What is ChurchNet Foundation, Inc.?
ChurchNet is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization, founded in 2005, to assist families in the Wake Forest, Youngsville and Rolesville communities with utilities and prescription needs. This interdenominational organization includes churches and organizations that have joined together to provide volunteer services and financial contributions required to meet emergency utility and prescription needs.
What is ChurchNet’s mission statement?
The primary mission of ChurchNet is to provide supplemental financial assistance with utility costs-including electricity, water, gas, along with prescription medicine needs for individuals in Wake Forest, Youngsville, and Rolesville areas.
What is ChurchNet’s current budget and where do contributions currently originate?
Significant funding for ChurchNet is provided through the support of churches; however, other organizations, including the Koinonia Foundation, the Town of Wake Forest, civic groups and private individual contributions make up the remaining budget. On a yearly basis, the budget for ChurchNet is approximately $50,000.
What are the basic benefits of ChurchNet?
In addition to meeting emergency utility and prescription needs for clients, ChurchNet ensures that funds support clients with the greatest needs, while lessening the demands on supporting organizations’ staff to assess client needs, navigate pledges to utility companies, and track funds. ChurchNet has simplified the overall process, while reducing the potential for duplication of efforts across organizations.
What might be the role of my church or organization in ChurchNet?
Churches, organizations or individuals interested in participating in ChurchNet are asked to assist in several ways. First, ChurchNet covets the prayers of each partner organization. Secondly, ChurchNet seeks additional financial resources to meet the growing needs of our community. There are no outlined resources that a church, organization, or individual must contribute; however, we request that participating churches contribute as led by the Holy Spirit. Finally, there is a great need for additional volunteers to assist with screening clients on a weekly basis. Given the increasing needs, there is an interest in opening ChurchNet offices for additional hours or days.
